- Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool have put themselves in a position to fight for success on three fronts this season following their Manchester cup double. The Reds reached the Carling Cup final by dispatching Manchester City last Wednesday before eliminating Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round. Now Dalglish - who should welcome back Jay Spearing for the Tuesday night visit to Wolves - wants his players to up their game in the quest for a top four spot. Liverpool are currently in seventh position heading to Molineux, six points behind Chelsea in fourth.Dalglish said: "We've got 16 league games left, we've got a cup final at Wembley and the fifth round of the FA Cup at home to Brighton - there's a lot for us to play for this season. "Qualification for the Champions League is one of them. We'll try our best to do as much as we possibly can and make it as good for everybody as we can."Liverpool play their third fixture in seven days on Tuesday and Dalglish is still unsure which players will be fully fit for the game.
Kenny: We'll fight for all threeLuis still missing back for game v Spurs? One man who could feature is Spearing, who has been out since January 11 with a hamstring problem. Dalglish said: "We've not trained yet.
We expect Jay to be fine. He could have been involved on Saturday but we gave him an extra couple of days. I think he should be fine so we might have him."We go to Wolves, it's going to be difficult and we've got the players training later on today before we can work out what we've got."Some of them have been more involved than others so we just have to check and see how people are before we decide what we're going to do."Dalglish hopes the cup victories will leave his team in confident mood against a Wolves side who, having won just four league games in 2011-12, are struggling in 19th position."It's nice to have people who support Liverpool having a smile on their faces," said the boss. "The boys are happy that they've made a lot of people happy. "It can certainly give us confidence but we've just got to get on with it. "We need to go about our work as efficiently and confidently as we have done in the last two games."We've got to be up for it if we want to get anything out of the game. "You don't see a Mick McCarthy team lying down and letting you roll over them, so we know what we're going to get. "They had a really strong second half against us in the home game at Anfield." http://www.lfconline.com/footydb/ loadhed.asp?teama=572&teamb=342 &utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_me dium=twitter Head-to-Head - Liverpool FC - LFC Online
