Liverpool 3 - Torino 1 Anfield 7th August
Goals from Firm, Gini & Studge
a 3-1 win over Torino on Tuesday with new boys making their Anfield debuts for the REds.
goals from Firm, Gini and Studge
Torino, who finished ninth in Serie A last season, arrived at Anfield with a 100 per cent pre-season record and no goals conceded, should have been behind after just 16 minutes.
Sadio Mane was buffeted in the box by Il Toro centre-back Gleison Bremer and despite the No.10 commendably staying on his feet, referee Michael Oliver pointed to the spot.
Fab - penalty-taker during his days at Monaco - stepped up to take the spot-kick but dragged his effort low and wide of goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu's left post.
Four minutes later, Firm gave the Reds the lead their early performance deserved.
Latching onto Mohamed Salah's through ball from the edge of the box, he fired in a shot from 14 yards out that took a looping deflection off wing-back Lorenzo Di Silvestri and nestled in the back of the net.
Liverpool continued to swarm forward and on 23 minutes Gini doubled the lead. Racing through to meet Firms defence-splitting pass, he added a calm, low finish to beat Sirigu from the right angle of the box.
The visitors rallied and got one back after Di Silvestri deftly controlled a high ball on the right wing and crossed for captain Andrea Belotti to head home from six yards out.
With half-time looming, Gini beat the iroffside trap to collect another perfectly-timed pass from Salah but was denied his second goal of the game by a tremendous save from Sirigu.
JK made seven changes at the break as Shaqiri, Andy Robertson, Marko Grujic, Curtis Jones, Lallana, Studge and Ings entered the fray.
It took just five minutes forIngs to get his first sight of goal. Some fancy footwork and a neat pass from strike partner Stuidge set him up, but his shot went wide of the far post.
Studge brought another good save out of Sirigu just short of the hour mark when the No.15 bamboozled Torino centre-back Nicolas Nkoulou in the box and stung the hands of the goalkeeper with a snap-shot.
Then it was Ings' turn to test the Torino stopper, who once again denied the Reds, although this time he was indebted to his defence for clearing off the line after making only a partial save.
Despite the chances, Liverpool struggled to match the fluency of the first half but the Anfield crowd were in full voice on 70 minutes when Jordan Henderson came on for his first appearance since reaching the World Cup semi-finals with England. Loris Karius replaced Alisson between the posts for the final 15 minutes at Anfield.!!!!
With three minutes to go, Sturdge added the final goal when he headed home from Shaqiri's wonderfully floated cross from the right to score his sixth goal in pre-season.. 3-1 now wham on saturday and the serious stuff...

LIVERPOOL v Torino @ Anfield ... cheap tickets,,,....?
...more like throwing a crumb to the poor supporters who cant afford to get to games , due to the USAcorp policies of the shark-infested Lfc boardroom... a token gesture to cover up their sins. #censoRED
LOANS?
@RedAlieNeT its always possible to blend a player like Ben into a winning team, he was the "wonderkid" last year, so I wonder about the management, and suggest board room policies dictate more than JK would like to admit.. #censoRED #LbiRD v http://global.espn.com/football/club/liverpool/364/blog/post/3582596/liverpool-could-do-better-at-giving-young-stars-like-woodburn-a-chance
WORLD CUP DISRUPTS?
its always BS, with the risk of injury , and disruption, now when clubs still dont have their players back from the world cup...
injury to key players during international games could affect the best chance Lfc have had of winning a major trophy since a long time,.,

Stevie at Rangers...
LOve Stevie, dont like Rangers much, Celts are closer to Liverpool - celtic connection.. and alsways supported J4t96 publicly and at all memorials! ..
Tommy Chinn > I've always had a soft spot for Celtic and tbh never liked Rangers but its a different ball game now Stevie's gone there would love to see him make a serious name for himself up there and get Rangers winnin silverware again and competing for title every season. Stands him in good stead for our job plus its all good for our loanees. But still wish Celtic well. Its also good for Scottish football if Rangers challenge Celtic makes better old firm games as well mate 👍
Proper skanked by that ref yesterday thought that kick out actually was a Red cos according to rule book it is so ya cant argue with it. Schoolboy stuff from Morelos tbh and no matter what Stevie said after game he won't be happy with Morelos 1 bit but he's not gonna say that publicly but how that Aberdeen defender stayed on when givin pen is madness its an 100% Red every time
CRS> i agree that all supporters should want Stevie to do well, I hope he will make his team competitive and i expect he will .. but i dont want rangers to do much more than that, i trusr Stevie will learn a lot, either way, i actually think it would be better for scottish football if the old firm did not dominate as they did in decades past , i get your point though! ;)
>
p.s. I would rather the current boardroom occupiers be gone before Stevie becomes manager i propose he is too big a character for their "policies"...

LIVERPOOL 5 napoli 0
.... Milly, Gini, MO, Studge....and moreNO!
.. A reasonably strong Napoli side (albeit without 'our Pepe") got battered and so did Ancelotti.. ! ...

in PURPLE again, despite the Naps in light blue ...f ing s g dont care about your team playing in its TRUE RED ("socialist") colours , they will "market" any fecking pretty colour to make more & more money fro supporters... cynical USA corp sales tactics...
But the team played well, AB looks to need a bit more match time to :fit; fans need to really grasp why we (almost) HATE the world cup, this could be the to win this materialistic league trophy from the (other) capitalist club.. however only Lovren & Hendo not yet back into training.. Clyne , Trent & Comacho could be in contention for the RWB position, but I truly hope Robbo stays ahead of Alberto, we all know can be good goign forward, but Robbo for me ,
like Milly is what a LIVERPOOL player should be , Gini Wynaldum , can also show those so keen to replace him , of his versatility, scoring a header whilst playing a virtual DM psoition..
Milly ...his usual self, Keita coming on .. VVD with Gomez or Phillips kept it clean ,, i have a feeling Nath might be "promoted"...(or should be ...Joe needs to show his best ..) above Matip.. ? and ..the fab three , currently led by MANE, Mo & Firm getting there, with a Studge in form ,and a "Shaq - attack" backing them up... options to come with Lalla, Fab, ...and whoever makes the cut on friday...? (Jones? .. plus....?)
notes from the commercial marketing tour of USA corp, apart from "marketing" the 2 new away kits , Klopp was kind to his former Dortmund club, then the REDS (sometimes in Purple and other pretty colours) "done" BOTH of the manc clubs ... more at

Today its Napoli (wihout Pepe ...at Milan.. sadly JK missed that deal too..)

Pepe Reina, at 35 , still a bargain at 9 million.. another example of their football failures
5 years....after the mis-managed Lfc-f s g boardroom pushed Brenda N into transferring the supporters favourite Pepe Reina, a hot in the dressing room, not only an agile shot-stopper and incredible saver of pens, he is a motivator, will marshal the defence, talk to the players, on & off the field, a sweeping GK, who intercepts crosses with confidence, is strong at corners, and distributes like Alonso! ... i truly believe Lfc would have won the League in '14 and since with him still in goal.. and for sure in Kiev on the 26th of May...! he would not have taken any of the sh&te from Ramos, more likely that Sergio would be carried from the field..
Debut for MR Becker , not boris... AlliSSon! :)
Might be "nice " for him , as he came to Lfc from "Serie A" .to play against 2 teans he knows..?
Team news from Lfc propaganda newsroom;
first-team-news-ings-lallana-matip-grujic
These 4 out, thats another game Marko misses , I do hope JK keeps him in the squad this season I am sure, like Studge , he could have contributed towards the end of last season, he hasnt had many chances to show his best.. hope Lallana can throw off any more injury doubt as he seemed very conident in recent interviews.. (see REdNET page) ..but Matip seems dogged with problems of late.. its curious how some players seem "likely" to get injured, Suarez always impressed me that he was almost never injured.. I cant see any room for Ings with Dom & Studge looking sharper.
SORT your hair out lad, horrid! |
and this lad , athough CB is a position that requires maturity, has impressed Nath Phillips....
(excuse the echo propaganda machine -cant comment on their articles any more , they had too much criticism...! ha ha)
football-news/how-hidden-star
worries me that so many young players, the likes of Ben & Ojo go out on loan, because how many EVER come back and make it in the first team?
REdNET BOOTROOM opinion...

CRS> wait to see how players perform in reality, looks good on paper... but footy isnt played on paper, or on video games.. ;)
Everything Liverpool AR > But we see Salah and mane and firmino on the pitch
CRS> football team work , is not simply a collection of the best players, they have to blend and bond into a TEAM, simple passing can be as effective as the most talented dribbler, closing down players (hounding or pressing as they now call it) working as a unit ... mentality is the key..we shall see who "fits" in the coming months ...but its a strong squad and JK will need to rest players during the season, ... so the squad is only as strong as the weakest link..
its a bit of fun, nothing more than that, to "guess" what will happen,,,thats what is so great in football, you can be surprised ... everyone is blinded by man citeh, but things can change..there are no guarantees ... who would have bet on Leicester a couple of years ago?
