The Reds are flying high after their Champions League win, and there should not be any hangover against a middling Southampton side with just one win so far and a overall poor record at Anfield.

The fact Jurgen Klopp managed to leave Naby Keita on the bench against PSG and to still win it shows Liverpool's increased squad power and he should be restored to the starting line-up along with one-eye match winner Roberto Firmino.

It's the kind of game last year's Liverpool could slip up in so it will be a test in its own way of their mental focus, but they do look a different animal this season so while they may not blow the Saints away they look more than good enough to take three points.

another 3 points & again without being at their best the TEAM won through..
another win, keeps Liverpool on top..
... Gini my MotM rarely gave the ball away, and maybe should have had another goal..
Not sure if Mane touched the first "goal" in first move.... ..
... but it set the "atmosphere" for a virtual onslaught on the spurs goal..
for me..

- and as I have said many, too many times - i dont like the "in game" management .. predictable..
and IMO wrong..
all over spurs at wembley , could have been 0-4 or 5 early in 2nd half,, and Hendo comes on ffor Firm, .. i dont think JK expected Roberto to come off, BUT...
at that time spurs were ragged, you dont need to "secure : the result, ..
Shaq or Studge for Firm at that time would have added fresh legs ...
and FFS what did Matip bring at the end, ok if he had cleared the spurs corner , but he didnt and it made an unessary :drama"
Mo is still not there , both he and Mane ...should have done more with half-chances .. ppassing rate was less than usual, spurs hardly had a shot on target and my joint MotM was Milly who closed down,...
NK put in a shift but also hasnt quite acclimatised to EPL footy..
yeah i know this seems like amoan UNBELIEVABLE when Lfc top the table, but today Lfc could have a) built up the goal difference and b) buried Tottenham hopes in one game..
VVD was player of the month , but apart from one error Joe was the CB that most impressed - both wing back Trent and Robbo seemed to be restricted by spurs but Robbo still contributed to the 2nd goal..
Mane getting down the left and his pass into the 6 yard box was fumbled by the spurs defenders and Firm. had a chance that I could have put away

so GREAT that LIVERPOOL got 3 points but.. dont, and i have said it a hundred times, when you are on top, dont "defend the lead" its not how this team plays - better go and bury the oposition , we dont look so nice back-peddling, spurs were out of the game - dont let them back into it..
and give players like Shaq. & Studge a half an hour .. not 10 minutes.. and even if you had to send Hendo back to the bench , make sure subs are used "perfectly"

/... the 2 away goals flattered the parisians side... they were hardly in it, an unlucky bounce off Robbo gave them the 1st away goal and Mbappe got his only touch because of a bad pass from our own move,

LIVERPOOL shd have won this game easily, and that worrying.. the lads were all over psg in the first half and could have had more goals - JK needs to get the frront line into a more efficient unit -

but... i will take this... doesn't matter about away goals - i take Lfc to win in paris too... feck them, and BTW the b&tch that shouted for the parisians in the irish pub tonight - an anti karma voice against us is so negative - can never win!

i wanted Firm and Shaq on 60 mins because IMO psg looked tired on the hour//..

Firm done it at the end , no more than WE deserved!

(edited SLnews) " Pochettino will no doubt send his Spurs side out with a flea in their ears after that Watford defeat, coming on the back of a superb victory at Old Trafford it really could be a momentum killer for his squad, especially if they lose again on Saturday.

A Saturday lunchtime after an international break is never an ideal kick-off time, but there should be two fired-up sides at Wembley as Jurgen Klopp will remember Liverpool's calamitous 4-1 thrashing at this ground last season and will not want a repeat of that outing.

Liverpool seem a different animal these days though with VVD & Joe Gomez
really shoring up that backline and Alisson, despite his howler at Leicester, looking a far more stable presence in goal, so they should offer more resistance this time around.

Everyone’s well aware that Liverpool have not been at their best yet this season but they’ll need to find something more to get a result from a Spurs side that only lost twice at home in the league last season.

A draw would probably do both sides, but on what we've seen so far this term then Liverpool have enough to go and get what could be a real statement victory for their title chances.

,,.... there seems a new steel right through this Liverpool side, especially in their pace and energy in midfield which could really trouble Spurs, and there's also more firepower up front for them to get what would be a cracking result for them.

Both of these teams can start fast so a first half goal is almost a certainty, but with the game on the line and some legs tiring after the international break there's every reason to suggest a second half strike as well. Salah has missed plenty of chances this season, but he is still getting the chances and should put one away at Wembley.

for me the disgrace is having these ridiculous national team games in midweek - leaving , for example JK only today (friday) to prepare with all of the squad.

havent watched no footy, since last tuesday, when I saw the repeat of the game (leicester v LIVERPOOL).. get bored with them, worry about the pointless risk of players so soon after season starts.. now UEFA, who want to milk everyones wallet, invent 'NATIONS LEAGUE" in an attempt to bolster up the declining interest in national teams footy compares with the glamour of CHAMPIONS league football.. its more BS, from the usual suspects .. same old situation the WORST people are in the most IMPORTANT jobs.. Brazil play on WEDNESDAY at home, meaning Lfc players wont be training before friday.. IMO that hands a chance to perhaps Shaq or Studge on saturday
dont you hate them too?

...If Juergen needs to motivate the players at wembley on saturday , surely all he has to do is to show them the 2 games against the north london side from last season 4-1 was (IMO) the worst with 11 players , and the 2-2 was theft aided & abetted by the ref after Mo had scored an injury time "winner" so that K..nt Kane could add another pen to his total..

some "fans" also need to ask themselves about "YNWA" when they left the stand early in London.. never happened in my day...

of course a major worry is the worries of our lads playing for their national teams and the effect that has on JKs detailed preparation ..its also possible that spurs have more probelms getting all their players back in time to prepare for what could be a very entertaining match..

hopefully the REDS bring home the 3 points and keep momentum going..strong..

I am not concerned ...... however, this is the firest time, since Rafa was pushed out that there is a "strong" feeling not just "wishful" ..that Lfc could life a major trophy, yes EVEN THE LEAGUE, this season..

4 games in and maximum points keeps LIVERPOOL just a nose ahead of the chelski rent boys, by GD,

2 CONVINCING wins v wham & at palace, and two less than convincing victories over brighton and at leicestor, but of course we are happy,, especially when we see "Maureens mancs" off form (mind you they started last year badly and came back to grab 2nd place..so watch out cocky smirking over moaning Maureen..

I have enjoyed the "full throttle" methods of Juergen, because WHEN all the players are in tune with it, it blows away even the best teams, and we are all convinced that "big ears" number 6 would have competent GK, and our bench had Phil or similar ...

JK doesnt take the criticism of "no final winners" as well as he seems to, but even maureen has a point , that JK should be pressed ...but IMO more IMPORTANT is that JK should press his employers... and not just expect it all to "come good" ( JK loves that "its all good" comment, but it isnt always good..)

No one (especially not the f s g brigade ) complains when Lfc are winning game after game), and JK can rightly point to many records being broken,, much of the Lfc 30 million + global fan base are too young to compare current teams to the ones WE saw dominate europe and the english league for almost a quarter of a century...

Whilst politicians make grand statements and national governments promote or "protect" their borders I REMIND YOU THAT WE ARE IN THE YEAR 2015 ... ISnt it TIME that you started to be " HUMAN (E) BEings????

I propose the "RENOVATION MISSION"
There are many empty buildings, many that are left empty in order to increase land prices, sometimes fanily homes are left empty due to death, or people moving away from villages to the city, some are unable to to be kept due to job losses, or changes in circumstamces, and sometimes because people just "cant be bothered" to repair them.

In this renovation prog.. WE SHOULD use the many hundreds of empty houses in the Balkans...
(for example) as there are many migrants and refugees travellign through the region...
refugees, and homeless immigrants could renovate, with little or no costs, as we have done with 3 houses here in Dg, MNE, and they could live in them, thus avoiding the deterioration that is happening ,
SAVING the money wasted on new construction... and bring LIFE to viallages and communities that have declined in the last 20-30 years... and perhaps in the process HONOUR the promises and agreements made by your national "democracies" after the horrors of WW2 ( UDHR 1948)
break down the borders, open your frontiers, your doors , and your hearts and minds..
and BE Human BEINGS! NOW!
