REdNet bootroom update, start again back to basics and BE positive v Huddersfield

am not clamouring for Rafas return, the USA boardroom is incompatible with the strategies and policies that Benitez wanted to implement at Lfc, however the decision making (or lack ) of JK is a bigger worry to me than individual players or squad value, the squad has enough talent, but, and JK MUST accept much of the blame, is imbalance… at lfc

Rafa brought under-rated Lucas, JK let him go.. exactly the player who sits in front of the defence, and helped secure some valuable results towards the end of last season… he is also capable of CB (in such a game situ as sunday) and has one factor that NO one at Lfc has, he organises.

 making the change on 30 mins was typical Klopp “gung ho” when Lfc were being hammered by AC Milan first half , Rafa replaced an injured forward with a midfielder and at half-time brought on a DM (Hamman) to stop the rot, JKs “full throttle” methods , when working look great and can batter even the best , however, Rafas Reds were , for me, always look the liklier to be able to do both, (blow away teams; e.g.4-0 v Real, ) AND steal a win (@ Inter) Late subs for me show a laxk od tactical awareness.. almost criminal to introduce Studge on 76 mins and Grujic on 82 , when 4-1 down…

Lovren is the deserving scapegoat, however, the whole defence, inc Mignolet coming out for a 40/60 ball when Lfc defenderswere “around”, Matip, for the 3rd, its his job too , to make the right decision, liek heading it back over the goalline, as an option? , Mignolet for the 4th, and despite his “improvement” Lfc always play “3 at the back” when MoreNO is selected, he is no defender, and when I Milly on the team sheet , hoped JK might play him on left side of defence and let Alberto storm up the left to his hearts content without the space, that Dejan didn’t defend for the 2nd goal..

it took JK most of the game to take off Can, a passenger.. for me the obvious would have been at half time to move Gomez inside for Lovren and Trent in on the right, (and the above mentioned switch Milly & MoreNO) that then steadies the defence (hopefully) and early 2nd half Ox or Grujic for can and Studge or Solanke for Firminho, who seemed jaded..

having said all of the above the root cause is USA ownership and a decade of non footballing management and lack of strategy.. JK is a coach, not a “Manager” like Rafa.. he at least knows that rotating defence inhibits understanding at the back, aproblem JK seems still to struggle with , having heard his “we shall work on it this week in training” for too many time since his employment,..

 I noticed how "support" had declined (in quality) at one of the last "aways" in england I went to , Lost 3-1 @ Reading a "shock" result, and shouting at "Lfc fans" who were leaving with around qarter of an hour left .. half of Liverpool could have been @ Spurs in the old days if wembley had the places available... players , staff & fans NEED a kick up the @rse!

 defenders must stay together to develop the understanding that just wasnt there yesterday, but you are right to congratulate Spurs, they looked like Lfc of old.. Can was no where, JK shd have aited for half time and placed Trent at RB if as he did, move Gomez to CB, however improved MoreMO is he is no defender, so when oundits claim Lfc "went to 3 at the back" its really only 2 because Alberto gives the defence almost nothing.. Hendo and Milly over-run

, and if this is supposed to be "4-3-3" Phil is too deep.. to cause sufficient damage, Firm is always deep, lfc too slow in moving the ball through 80% plus pass success means nothing if, like Can in 2nd half you play 20 passes in reverse.

Salah, ok ironic he scored with his right.. because often he gets himself in good positions but predictably switches to his left,, and come on Juergen, what chances have subs got if you put them on 3 goals down with 15 and 8 mins left to play?? add Lalla, Clyne & Mane to the team and its still capable of beating anyone.. 

however currently my team would be : WARD, (both other keepers have let lfc down too mnay times, Trent, Gomez, Matip (dejan was probably destroyed by that subbing after 30 mins) Robertson , Hendo, GRUJIC, Wijnaldum, Phil, Firm, Salah, ...and give Studge or Solanke at LEAST half an hour ...v huddersfield

Rotating goalies or CBs is risky, dont do it! need to develop understanding..Mignolet should okay every league & European fixture ..
