bournemouth v
LIVERPOOL

Joe out?
this is worrying ... he has been in such great form this season so far and important in keeping the defensive aspects tight.. no news yet ...on how long he will be out,
preview... Liverpool make the long trip to the south coast for the lunchtime kick-off knowing a victory would put some pressure on manciteh fraud club

bournemouth v

Liverpool (1230 GMT)

The games just keep on coming and after a breathless midweek schedule these two teams have drawn the short straw with the early lunchtime kick-off as Liverpool make the long trip down to the south coast.
It's usually a fixture laden with goals as they average around three-and-a-half from their six Premier League encounters, but a combination of the hectic schedule and the early kick-off may just mean this one is a bit more sedate than usual.
JK  just about got away with making wholesale changes at Burnley and, while Joe will be a huge miss, he will be confident of Liverpool playing their new more pragmatic style to grind out another away victory.
The Cherries have been in fine form and are a dangerous outfit at home, they were largely second best when beating Huddersfield in midweek and it's this time of year when squads are really tested to the limit.
The Reds will need their defensive skills to stem an early wave of pressure, with Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson in particular proving to be a real handful this season.
Coming off the bench to score at burnley will be a huge pick-me-up for the "the Firm", who has been a bit below par in recent games, and he could go on a run of goals.
bournemouth v Liverpool - Opta stats
Eddie Howe and David Wagner
Eddie Howe and David Wagner
  • Bournemouth have lost four of their six Premier League matches against Liverpool (W1 D1), losing both matches last season by an aggregate score of 0-7.
  • Liverpool’s only defeat in 13 previous matches against Bournemouth in all competitions (W9 D3) came at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League in December 2016; the Reds lost 3-4.
  • Bournemouth had 43 shots in their first three Premier League games against Liverpool, while facing 47; in their last three, they’ve had just 20 shots while facing 61.
  • Bournemouth’s win against Huddersfield in the midweek fixtures ended a run of four successive defeats for the Cherries.
  • Liverpool have won 39 points from 15 league games this season, which is their best-ever start to a top-flight league season. Only six sides (including Manchester City this season) have won more points from their opening 15 league games to a top-flight season (based on three points for a win).
  • Against no side has Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe lost more games as a manager in all competitions than he has against Liverpool (7, level with Man City).
  • Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has been involved in five goals in his last five Premier League appearances against Bournemouth (3 goals, 2 assists).
  • Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has scored eight goals in his 15 Premier League games this season – he last scored more in a league campaign in 2014-15, when he netted 20 goals in 45 Championship games in Bournemouth’s promotion season.
  • Alisson has remained unbeaten in his opening 15 league matches as a Liverpool player; equalling the club record in the Premier League set by Javier Mascherano in November 2007. If he plays and doesn’t lose this match, he’ll set the new outright club record.
  • James Milner could make his 500th Premier League appearance in this match, becoming the 13th player to reach this landmark. Should he play in this game, he’ll become the 2nd youngest to do so aged 32y 338d old, behind only Gareth Barry (32y 219d).

I propose JK gets back to the first team for the early saturday kick off .. IMO the premiere league is priority despite the financial and glamour / media draw of the "champions league"
AB ;
Trent .. Dejan (for Joe)  VVD, Robbo (if fit, if not Milly! )
Gini, Fab, NK ,  Mane (if fit if not Shaq?),  "the Firm" & Mo...

burnley 1 v LIVERPOOL (reserves) 3  Milly, Firm & Shaq

Lbird Monte REd shared a post.

burnley v LIVERPOOL
sevral changes, and although JK slected the midfield & attack WE proposed, , we were far from happy to see such changes as M and M in defence....
Liverpool's title credentials were given a thorough examination at Turf Moor but they passed with flying colours after coming from behind to win a grueling encounter 3-1.
JK's gamble of making seven changes, including leaving out his big guns up front, was ultimately justified but for more than an hour it looked a struggle...
The Clarets gave their visitors a tough test and after goalkeeper Joe Hart had kept them in the game with two top-class saves from Studge and NK , Jack Cork put burnley ahead just after the break.
However, Milly soon equalised and after JK sent on Mo& Firmi., the latter converted from close range within four minutes of his arrival and Shaq completed victory in added time. The two managers exchanged words at the final whistle, with Juergan unhappy with some of the burnley tackles.!!!!!
It maintained the Lfc (in grey shirts & shorts, with REd socks ) unbeaten start to the season and ensured the gap to Premier League leaders citeh returned to two points.
the big call was in making sweeping changes from Sunday's Merseyside derby win, giving Anfield match-winner Divock Origi his first Premier League start since May 14 2017.
That was also the last time Liverpool started without any of the Fab3 , with Mane, out injured.
burnley, without a win since September, showed five changes themselves but it was apparent from the outset they were intent on hassling and harrying their visitors out of their stride.
Phil Bardsley appeared to go over the top of the ball on Moreno - in the main made it hard for Liverpool to settle.
They were further disrupted when Ben Mee's follow-through on Gomez resulted in the defender being carried off on a stretcher with what appeared to be an ankle injury...... thats a worry as Joe has been in excellent form this season...
The usually unruffled ViVD was caught in possession by Ashley Barnes early on, forcing the centre-back to sprint to make a recovery tackle, and that appeared to set the tone for instability and uncertainty within the visitors' ranks.
Chris Wood was ponderous when the goal opened up for him on the edge of the area and Matip cleared the danger but burnley continued to pose a threat with Phil Bardsley's 40-yard drive whistling just past a post and Barnes' s volley from Robbie Brady's free-kick ruled out for offside.
Div and Studge fed on scraps at the other end, although the latter should have done better with his first touch when Milly clipped a cross to the far post.
NK, making his first league start since mid-September, looked their biggest threat in the final third but there were few other Lfc players on his wavelength.
Two minutes into the second half Studge forced Hart into his first real save with a low, left-footed effort with the former England goalkeeper doing even better to tip NK's strike onto a post, then, just when it seemed they were getting into their stride Liverpool were hit with the sucker punch.
AB only half-saved the Woods' deflection from James Tarkowski's header at a corner and in the six-yard-area scramble that followed Cork reacted quickest to poke the ball home.
Their lead lasted barely eight minutes as Millly finally beat Hart with a low effort just inside the Burnley goalkeeper's left hand post after Div. had laid off Keita's pass.
The midfielder's 'reward' was to be dropped in as an auxiliary left-back as Klopp sent on Salah and Firmino for Moreno and Origi. (please JK i would rather Dejan or Milly play LB than risk moreNO)
His change paid off immediately as Firm scored wit his first touch four minutes later, tapping home after VVD, at full stretch, squared Trent 's free-kick.
NK was denied three times inside 30 seconds, twice by Hart - who also denied Mo in the same move - and once by Bardsley as Liverpool tried to kill off the game in the final 10 minutes.
Then AB brilliantly clawed Mee's header away from the top corner in added time and Liverpool counter-attacked for Shaq to score before, at the final whistle, JK obvioulsly told Burnley boss Sean Dyche his opinion of their tactics ...Lfc will miss Joe...

  5. bmoth LIVERPOOL 4 Mo 3 plus 1 OG deserved

I have to admit when i saw mason (the renowned manc lover ) as ref i took a sharp intake..
but thanks to the "REdS in gray" today,,, last season when the Team spanked Porto 0-5 away in the orange i thought,,., hmmm yeah we go allthe way, had it not been for a criminal act on Mo I beliweve 6th bigears was ours..
    \
\anyway So significant, whatever happens at chelski later if they manage to dent manciteh faud clubs hold on the title or niot ..THIS , for me , was the ultimate proof of a CHAMPIONS team..
unlike the kloippites that climbed on the bandwagon of Juergen, I am not a fan.. but give credit where it may be due...\
\the Team LOOKED like champions today making all the pundits look sick, and the fannes & fsg clones who are clammering for transfers or look to the home games with Napoli This on top of the away at burnley says "MUCH MORE" THIS is "more " and WE not u c&nts in Lfctv or the shark infested boardroom ..WE are LIVERPOOL = WE are the club

    an almost instant match report...

the Team looked relaxed and yet "ready " Matip doing a fair imperosnation of Joe..,,impressed,,
why would u leave this chance,. i still feel the >Team can win at the mancs on Jan 3..

Pep must be shi&&ing himself.. he made another title winning team and still sees our boys in his wing mirror...

early game the lads looked comfortable. moveed the ball around, but always with a hint of explosion.. a nice move coming through Matip (how many time have i said teh CBS should make movement forward?) to Mo , to "the Firm" with a spin on his shot caused a remound and almost onside Mo smaked in the first ...Goal 1

a few odd chances and the lads soaked up the home sides attacks..

2nd ha;f.. easy despite a foul Mo tucked away the 2nd...
the "fouler" OG's number 2 under pressure//....the RED karma force" is with me..
0-3 game over ... the again Mo , back to his best jinks around the box, and slots it home for 0-4 and his hat trick,... "one season wonder.." ?

Lalla & Mane on ..the bench looks so strong and I am expect Five... drinks all round in the pub..

MotM ?// obvious to give it Mo... but I'd give it to all of them.. and who would bet against him scoring another load in the next 6 months,,,

    Made up!
