ChRiS> This wont be an "easy game" the atmosphere will be intimidating and with a virtual cup tie at arse-nal saturday night before travelling I would rest key players ...and ask the "fringe" players to earn their keep .. the home team will probably fight for an outside chance to progress in europa league..and home pride?
Mign.?
Clyne , Joe; Dejan ... (& anyone who can play LB)
Hendo Fab (who needs to show after failing saturday)
Lalla
Shaq, Studge, Solanke
(with the "Firm & co" on bench)

Milly ..
its been "against the odds"for a long time now!
we wont get any favours so stop moaning about that and the players need to GET ON WITH it.. no excuses
, a) arsenal started the better , in fact they looked like us at the beginning, with high pressing.. b) had chances to win it ... c) Jk got the in game management wrong, Emery got it right.. again.. its not perfect , it never is.. because its a tough league,
...i still feel the REdS can do it with this squad, but needs 100% effort and that is on and OFF the field, in the support too..
Highlights... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOxoQ_0tnbM
much was made of the "stats" that indicated that the home side were slow starters ... Emery must have warned his players because it was they , rather than the "purple people eaters" who got off to a flying start pressing high, redstar tried it at Anfield, but the london side have better players, and I have to say, caught Lfc off guard , early on...
...JK must ensure that this LIVERPOOL team competesfor 95 mins.. recently Napoli, Chelski, manciteh and even the side from Belgrade for a short while have made games uncomfortable with tactics to restrict the free movement...
their midfield matched the away teams effort , at least... and...
the final cutting pass, or shot on target, wasnt quite there... this Liverpool team must learn to kill off opponents, as LIVERPOOL still created a few more chances than arse,,, at 0-1 , following Millys goal...VVD forced Leno to save from a header, (Virgil having already hit the post and had a point blank shot saved) Mo should have put Mane in near the end after a swift counter..
worked hard though, Salah was often crowded out by 3,4 or even 5 defenders ...

arguably a fair result, although if the ref had allowed a good goal scored by Mane in the first few minutes.. it
would have been 3 points.. arse on a good run started well.. it was like a cup game end to end..
should have had a better final ball.

Juergen; "
"A point is a fair result, but we had clear chances to win and that is frustrating," said Klopp. "We were not as compact defensively as I wanted in the first half and that gave Arsenal a chance to boss the game in the first half and we put too much onto our midfield to hold it together.
"They had a few chances for sure and they are in a good moment, but we were not at our best. We got a point, we deserved a point and we could have had more.
"I don't feel like we dropped two points, but when I speak to Virgil van Dijk and he tells me he should have scored a hat-trick, I am reminded that we missed big chances."
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane had a first half goal incorrectly ruled out for off-side, with Klopp bemoaning that decision as he met the media.
"I think it should’ve been a goal, that’s how it is," he added. "It’s football… it was a brilliant attack, so it’s a pity it didn’t count, but we made a few more mistakes than the ref.
"There is only one person who can answer the question why it wasn't a goal and that's the linesman. That's football. If he thought the first situation was offside then I think he was wrong, but it's not going to change and we made more mistakes than the referee. It would have been cool if this goal could count."
Arsenal boss Unai Emery took comfort from his side's impressive performance, as he suggested Lacazette's late leveller earned his side a deserved point.
"We wanted to win but the performance is good, we push and we work the match, doing our tactics and with our supporters pushing us with energy," stated the Arsenal boss. "For the supporters it is a great match and a good spectacle but I am only 50 per-cent happy because we wanted to win.
"The balance was good in our speed and intensity. We worked very well for the 90 minutes and the two goals is the difference in the match. This is a point and a draw, maybe we deserve a little more.
"Every match is a good test for us, it is very important we continue our process and not to lose, our test is Thursday against Sporting Lisbon and Sunday against Wolves, to be in a good position in the table. I think today the supporters pushed a lot for us and the players feel it on the pitch to help us and that is a good combination." "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlVmbdVC80I analysis
our moan...
in game management, it seems , so often in vital games that opposing coaches (the more experienced coaches) manage to make better improvements through subs, Shaq for Firm was // like for like, and for me, Matip on 90 mins was "pointless"
.. (if anything, as said before) it gives momentum or initiative to opponents when he throws on a defender late in the game.. is this "full throttle" ???
far too cautious /... the arsenal defence wasnt too solid after Milly scored... for me Fab was not effective
.. i would have placed Gini as "holding" and replaced Fab with Shaq (or Studge..and really "go for it")
...and pressed for more goals , as the game was there for the taking,
..yeah sure, manciteh will be "loving it" .. this was another game when 3 points could & should be won..
mind you manciteh play utd next weekend , then spurs play chelski ,
so LIVERPOOL may well be back in pole position in a fortnight , BUT must win all such games to keep the title pressure on..
I felt before the game that possibly Joe might have moved over to right side and played Dejan & VVD as the paired CBs but I (and definitely JK) expected Fab to have a better game , he was no where...surely JK should have changed that at H-T ... put the team on the back foot, Gini & Milly having to pick up the pieces against the arsenal midfield which was already a tough ask (...and tired out Firm.
