burnley v LIVERPOOLNew Year's Day.

Hopefully Lfc turn up at Turf moor , last season the home side got the result and we saw the "bad habit" which still plagues the REDS, who , however extended the unbeaten run, in all games on saturday, to 15 v Leicester..2-1 (with both goals by Salah at Anfield)

Klopp pre match press..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG1psqNLKwU

Salah is a doubt  New Year's Day.

Liverpool's current leading scorer limped off in Saturday's 2-1 win against Leicester after scoring both goals, with manager Jurgen Klopp set to assess his fitness ahead of the game.
"I don't know in this moment exactly (what it is) but he was limping. That's never a good sign, to be honest," said the Liverpool boss. "We have to see what his problem was. We will see what he can do for the next game.
"For me it is the most strange situation. It is the third time this year (playing twice in three days) and people think 'Wow, how will you do that?'.
"The good news is Burnley had to play Saturday as well. I don't think they got the point (in the goalless draw against Huddersfield) without running so they have the same thing to do and that is then fair play." (however I guess burnley will comment that they dont have the depth in their squad, that Lfc should be able to call upon tomorrow...
Burnley have been one of the surprises of the season, currently sitting in seventh place on 34 points, and will be looking to get back to winning ways after two successive draws, including a goalless meeting with Huddersfield on Saturday.
"The goal still, is to build on last season," said manager Sean Dyche. "Now we're doing that, obviously, but we've got to physically do that.
"So when you get that goal achieved, whenever that day comes when we get the same points or more, hopefully, then how do you move forward from there? Then we'll reassess."

Team news

Although Salah could be sidelined Mignolet will return at Turf Moor as Klopp continues to rotate his goalkeepers with the manager confirming he would make at least one change.
Defender Alberto Moreno (ankle) could be fit for Friday's Merseyside derby FA Cup tie but as the transfer window does not open until the day of the game, new signing Virgil van Dijk cannot be registered in time to play.

Burnley defender James Tarkowski returns from a ban. The player has served a three-game suspension and the Clarets must decide whether to recall him to the starting line-up or retain Kevin Long and Ben Mee in central defence.
Left-back Stephen Ward (knee) and striker Chris Wood (leg) remain doubtful, while Robbie Brady (knee) and Tom Heaton (shoulder) are long-term absentees.

Opta stats

Burnley won this exact fixture 2-0 last season - they haven't beaten Liverpool at home in consecutive league games since March 1967.
Liverpool suffered that defeat in August 2016 despite having 80.4 per cent possession - the highest for a losing side in a Premier League game since 2003-04.
Burnley are unbeaten in their last four league games played on New Year's Day (W3 D1), with these games producing a total of 19 goals (F12 A7).
Liverpool have won only one of their last seven away league games played on January 1st (D3 L3), beating Ipswich 2-1 in 1994.
The Clarets conceded three goals in their last home Premier League match against Spurs - as many as they'd conceded in their previous nine at Turf Moor this season.

Liverpool v Leicester

Pre match press by JK;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZOQj0RXSi4

(SL) preview " If Liverpool could put a full 90-minute shift in against their rivals there would be a serious chance of them registering a goal tally in double figures (in a match) before the end of the season.
Jurgen Klopp and the fans have to be patient though and wait for sporadic bursts of dominance, the Boxing Day success over Swansea a good example as they only really started to turn on the style in the last 30 minutes.
A clean sheet will have pleased Klopp anyway – they all count, even against the toothless Swans – as will the news that Virgil van Dijk is at last heading north with the German boss hoping he can solve their on-going issues at the back that has seen them concede six more goals than Burnley.
The Foxes are a big threat then to get in amongst the Merseysiders and still give the impression they are in reasonably good nick despite going three Premier League games without a victory.
They perhaps should have been out of sight at Watford but were found out at the back on a couple of occasions to concede two very soft goals and gift the hosts all three points.
That performance might just help sharpen the focus of Kasper Schmeichel, Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan as they attempt to put their best foot forward ahead of a daunting task at Anfield.
There are fewer concerns at the other end of the pitch as key components Riyad Mahrez, Marc Albrighton and Jamie Vardy are all thriving, so manager Claude Puel does have the opportunity to stand and trade punches with the hosts to some extent."

CS< Likely that Mane will start ...? maybe rest Phil on bench?..who knows?? :)

Mane needs to recover best form
REdNET suggests;
Goalie,
Gomez Matip Klavan Robbo,
  Ox, Lalla  Wijn,  Mane
               Firm,
                      Salah ?
with another game monday!

LFC 5 - swans 0

fair comment, there was little to say about a "job, eventually, well done, for me, best moment was Trent getting his goal, Kop end, but I have noticed how recent players now don't go the Kop, as they used to, they look for family & friends in the Stand, can understand this lad doing this,

however , now they virtually  all do it,  the "holy trinity" is long gone.. and since 2007 & "their ownership" virtually all of the "Liverpool way" buried, and I include Brenda N & JK in the demise, only Rafa, & Kenny of course, had the right bond with supporters.../2017/12/liverpool-5-swansea-city-0-swans-stroll-hits-the-right-note-for-the-reds/

Group Admin the question is if this was agreed by J Henry to soften the blow if Phil is sold, or a real commitment , at last, to making Lfc champions again, they have been "selling 4th is success" so far!

REdNet bootroom, (almost happy chrismith,..) update ..just when you thought... (and Pre Liverppol v swans)

first a "promo" link, go to the unique
evolutionary
Akada ME JA!

REdNET bootroom update (pre-swans)

Management v coaching

I was captain of my local club when I was 16, "managing" players much older than myself. and later at 19 they made me manager of ", logistics" again, managing older and with even more technical experience... i was always organising, in marriage, family, partners events,community..even later global projects and more recently volunteer initiatives , charity and youth FOOTBALL ...its an instinct , you need a vision a sort of plan in your mind, the clearer the plan the easier it is to manage, however, often something deeper spirit /feelings have pushed me to raise myself above the pragmatic plan, and take a risk, do something aGAINST the norm, to be different, take a chance.. and thats what got me "places"

... I hated being "boxed" labelled by people, who only see a narrow window, many here think all I am is a football supporter.. because thats how modern "fast food" society CONDITIONS people... I am an optimist, however also cynical, and I would suggest, that Lfc is Klopp's OWN "schooling" having lived 2 decades in germanic regions there is a tendence (DNA) to fix on a system, and a lack of ability to inspire..or reluctance to risk, i repeat I LIKE JUERGEN, as a man and i think he is a top COACH, he has a system, and I admire his application & commitment to it,

BUT MANAGEMENT is more than that, to manage individuals and collective and STRATEGY is more..another reason i prefer RAFA, for me it is a disgrace of Lfc that he has been so badly treated, and has to gain promotion and fight relegation for the Geordies instead of winning tropies for the REDS, not only mis treated by the Lfc board, and some clueless fans, but by Presidents of the clubs thereafter, Rafa has that multi-tasking ability,

.. of course no one gets it right all the time, luck is also needed , and you make it... JK may become a good manager, but I CANNOT accept him stating the repeated errors are a sort of blip, they are childish and something is wrong with methods , preparation and matchday management... dont tell me it isn't! chances are the force will over come Swans & hopefully @ Burnley, when Lfc convincingly defeat a top team, and again, we can discuss the matter, by all means...

pre Liverpool v Swans ... Xmas "wishes"

Liverpool

…consistency from the ‘fab four’  ( and JK???)
(S.LIfe> " Liverpool are the strangest Premier League team, thumping opponents one week and struggling to draw the next. Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem too concerned (perhaps with good reason given this is precisely what happened at Borussia Dortmund before things finally clicked), but this Christmas the fans will be wishing for some consistency.
Only Manchester City have lost fewer games than Liverpool’s two, but draws against Burnley, Everton, West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United, and Watford are simply unacceptable for a team with so much attacking talent. If Klopp played the four together, and in the same positions, with more frequency then perhaps results would stabilise."
ChRiS> smoother rotation, play your best against the best, (and in derby games) less defensive changes... earlier & better subs ...and kill off the opposition, its not "basketball" ... and grow up!

i am REALLY sick to death , of the way the "mainSCREAM media"  fan nies, fsg clones , and players have bought into the concept that being FOURTH is some sort of "success"

its Feck all! sheeple, its nothing, gets you into europe and henry gets more money,  to....

this is whats supposed to be about..this:

Just when you thought it was safe to watch Lfc, without fearing another  horror story,,,

Highlights..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INsj8RDuxSw

analysis...? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olV198Z5wI0

Klopp..ite?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5HURJ8DUh8 no! IMO, he is a good coach, not yet a good manager! Mane is off his game , recently , Lalla or Ox or even Solanke on @ 60 mins!!  , keep  pushing, no , he "ceded" territory with Wijnaldum and far too late for positive effect...

Carra's right, this time, Carragher-forget-simon-mignolet-

but see our opinion in several previous Logs ... Jk responsible for defensive issues, and a question about "mentality & methods"

the bumpy story continues , yes unbeaten in 10 games, but the draws were all winable, and we would be still challenging...?  shutting-up-bmouth-and-hoping-to-kick. ....arsenal...

arsenal 3 (really?)  v Liverpool FC  3  (Phil, header!) Salah (21st goal? ) and Firm.

is there a word for repeating "Deja vu"  Dejan View?, asian flu? ; whatver, it IS a DISEASE!

3-3 and here we are again, Seville revisted too often, and for me, its was clear Mane was off his game , from minute 1 on, and has been since,,,, to wait so long to replace him with Ox (IMO) by Jk just once more exposes the inability of Klopp & co staff to see what is obvious... always too late, Gomez was static for arsenals reply...>Mign was at fault for 2nd, and just above everyone, inc Phil, who despite a ll the previous plaudits also went missing.,...for arsenals 3rd ... when the tide turned,

Lfc shd have gone in half time at 0-3.4 ... yes at 0-2 a weak arsenal still thought (rightly) they could come back...that is why JK is not , yet, a league trophy winner etc, and f-all to do with money available...(and I hate Henry & co) ... and as In other games drawn, (v chelski etc) subbing forwards with midfielders only says to the enemy, :you have the initiative now"... in any other season a draw at arsenal is ok, not this one,,,..

JK 's selected team ,,, Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Klavan, Robertson, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Salah, Mane, Firmino

subs subs Karius, TAA, Milner, Lallana, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solank

REdNeT SL> There was a huge gulf in class when this pair met on August 27 with the Gooners pilloried for an apathetic performance at Anfield as the desire and commitment of their players came under some serious scrutiny.

The Premier League wheel continues to revolve at a rate since that 4-0 humbling as just one point now separates the pair in fourth and fifth
...... quality in the final third the pair are capable of producing, particularly when they come together.

August’s showdown was the seventh occasion in their last nine meetings that resulted in over three goals
considering this begins the dreaded "busy Festive period" of peace, goodwill andit may be tighter with both moaning about too many games over the next fortnight.

There are clear and consistent deficiencies in both defences but they will surely be on full alert in a bid to find those few extra percentile points to keep such an array of opposing attacking talent at bay.
some doubt Arsene Wenger or Jurgen Klopp will want to kick off this spell of fixtures with a physically and mentally draining shootout at the Emirates.
There is serious scope too for both to play a more cagey game when it comes to team selection.

and pundits expect Ox to get a chance from the start though on his return to north London after Klopp stirred things up this week with a dig at his former employer However REdNET would ask JK to play his strongest 11... which even though Ox was arguably MOTM at Bmouth, may not include him,,,

for me the ‘Fab Four’, should play in a 3 4 2 1 formation ..even if Klopp seems not overly concerned about how he rotates his most influential attacking players in a bid to keep them sharp.
we shall see if an apparent slight hamstring issue for Mo Salah picked up in the victory at Bournemouth could mean he gets his breather this time on the bench.
most go for an X however if I picked Lfc ; my selection

REdNeT Mign, Gomez, Lovren, Klaven (3 back) Trent & Robb winging, with Hendo & Firm central, Phil & Mane and Salah on the arsenals last lines shoulder... could steal 3 pointrs...? or insert Wijn or Ox to rest Salah, and its more like 4 3 3 ...
